The video follows a young child who goes through a tough time in school endlessly being bullied on.  Both artists appear throughout the video rapping their strong verses.  When the pain all builds up, the kid finally fights back towards the end of the video timed in perfectly with Em’s fast paced and motivational verse.  The song also samples “What Is Love” by Haddaway.

Expect to see ‘No Love’ hit your televisions screens and recieve more airplay.

Editor’s Thoughts

This is my favourite track off the whole album.  Not a huge fan of Lil’ Wayne, he had a solid verse (picked up towards the end which fitted nicely with the beat).  Obviously Eminem stole the show here.  Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

Also in the video below, Drake talks about his latest free R&B mixtape and his work on his sophomore album.  Personally I am eager to hear the R&B mixtape, as I am a huge Drizzy fan, I believe he truly excels in his mixtapes than his offical album offerings.

“I’m always accustomed to giving out free music, so I’m working on this new project for free and I’m also working on my second album,” said Drizzy, whose first mixtape So Far Gone helped launch his hip-hop stardom .

Young Money Kings

Young Money Kings are at it again.  This CDQ version was so good that I thought it warrants its own post.  Simply been listening to it all day.  The track is from the 7th Edition of ‘The Drought Is Over’ mixtape series.  Very addictive and one of the few tracks that lets Weezy truly outshines Drake.  Production from Kane Beatz is on point too.

Lil’ Wayne – Right Above It (feat. Drake) (Full|No DJ|CDQ)

Remember that Drizzy article I did with the Affion Crockett Parody? That article featured Drake’s ‘freestyle’ from Tim Westwood’s Radio Show.  Freestyle really?  That same freestyle is on this track.  Anyway, personally I thought Drake came off bored on this one.

Ever since the beginning of his high-profile career, besides his larger than life persona and beard,  Ross is known for his great beat selection and his impeccable flow.  Affiliated with production teams such as  the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, The Olympiks and The Inkredibles,  Ross maybe has the most illustrious production with his latest album.  Without further a do, let’s go in and discuss the standout tracks of the album.

1.  Free Mason (feat.  Jay-Z & John Legend)

Ross and Jay-Z team up once again on a controversial titled track ‘ Free Mason’.   You can pretty much guess what the song is about,  Jay-Z confidently address his recent allegations with the occult organizations.  Jay-Z spits ‘It’s amazing that I made it through the maze that I was in / Lord forgive me I never would have made it without sin / Holy water, my face in the basin / Diamonds in my rosary shows he forgive him’. Anyway, the The Inkredibles do a fantastic job with infectious beat, Ross comes through with a solid intro combined with John Legend’s soulful hook.

2.  Maybach Music III (feat.  T.I., Erykah Badu & Jadakiss)

Ross returns with his famous Maybach Music series, but this sequel comes up short compared to its predecessors.  The production is great, but I felt the hook was pretty weak.  T.I. has a solid first verse (the dolorian reference is a funny one) and Jadakiss’s verse is pretty good, nothing really memorable though.  When its Ross’s turn to go in, the beat changes to a more energetic tone, which is the highlight of this Maybach Music.

3. Live Fast, Die Young (feat.  Kanye West)

College Dropout vibe with this production (and West’s Delivery).  Addictive hook, quality album cut and overall a good Hip-Hop hook.

4. Super High (feat. Ne-Yo)

First single of Teflon Don, chilled out beat and Ne-Yo does his thing on the hook.  Check out the remix with ‘Curren$y & Wiz Khalifa‘.

5. Aston Martin Music (feat. Drake & Chrisette Michele)

We have Maybach Music, Mafia Music and now Aston Martin Music?! Ross links up with Drizzy and Michele where the latter two make a great team for doing the hook.  Another chilled out beat, Michele’s voice is timeless and Drake brings the soulful emotion to this track.

A notable mention goes to B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast) which features as a street anthem , a bass heavy banger which is perfect to ride with, cruising with your boys.  Unfortunately, Telfon Don comes up short with only 11 tracks compared to his previous album (14).  One of my biggest disappointments was the absence presence of Mafia Music 2 (featuring Chrisette Michele).  This track is arguably the best track that Ross has ever done even without a hook.  The lyrics are the deepest I have seen from Ross, one of the best flows I have heard on a track, Chrisette Michele has a breath-taking voice and the production is just hypnotizing.  Why again was this not included on Telfon Don? Check the official video below, which IMO blows all the other Teflon Don tracks.

Ross can become repetitive with his shallow lyrics and excessive use of profanity, but he makes it up with his standout flow. The album is packed with too many features, leaving only one solo joint, highlighting the possibility that Ross may not be able to carry himself alone.  Lyrically, he hasn’t progressed much since Deeper Than Rap, but his latest work is still quality and most definitely Ross fans will appreciate.

LA & Mr. Music - The Billboard Hot 100 Series

LA & Mr. Music is a duo I have listened to since summer 2008.  Ever since then, I had been amazed of all the music they have released.  I even went and purchased their album (which I rarely do ^_^) and vibe to it in my frequent car journeys.  To my delight, the album is filled with dope beats and immersive lyrics.  When I get the time, I will do an artist profile on them, highlighting their best songs since the start of their careers.  Now, on to the main topic……

They recently released a mixtape titled ‘The Billboard Hot 100 Series’, where they take on the biggest hits that have conquered the Billboard charts this past year.  They have remixed songs such as Timbaland’s ‘Carry Out’,  Ludacris’s ‘How Low’ and even Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’! LA & Mr. Music successfully have put their own unique flavour on today’s biggest hits, putting their own interpretations and sometimes completely flipping the original tracks in a  most definitely suprising way (….and they execute it brilliantly).

The Billboard Hot 100 Series by lamrmusic

LA & Mr. Music have included 3 original tracks towards the end of the mixtape, which you should consider listening too, especially ‘The Stars’, an up-tempo club single described as ‘One of kind production making it hard to find a moment without surprise, LA’s unique style and swagger are also perfect fit for the uptempo production that would be tough for many rappers to ride with’ (GWHH).

Overall, the ‘The Billboard Hot 100 Series’ is a deeply entertaining listen packed with club banging beats and immersive and hilarious lyrics that will surely make you chuckle (especially when you vibing to in the car).  One of the best moments for me personally was the killer verse Mr.Music performed on the Tik Tok remix, the smoothness in his delivery was simply put, breath-taking!  ‘No Girlfriend’ gets a big mention too.  Fans of Hip-Hop, Electronica and Pop will surely appreciate this offering and below you can find the 5 best tracks that I have compiled that will definitely catch your ear (and also I have listed their original tracks too). The original video highlights Westwood’s usual humerous behaviour and also Drake stumbles noticably on his freestyle.  How many times did this Degrassi star say ‘I say errr’ ‘I say err’ ? Lol, yeah I lost count too.

Anyway check the parody where Affion quickly gets everyone with his humour and also the guy who plays Westwood does a brilliant job too, he plays it SPOT ON.  Affion had me laughing from the Grey Hoodie punchline and the ‘since when did rappers have to make sense when they make cents’.

Does Justin Bieber play video games?  Well he’s a kid after all but does he play 360 or PS3 or even the Wii?  From this video you can clearly see that he is definitely playing on the NEW Kinect for Xbox 360. Dance central and Kinect adventures, Many of the Teens at the show didn’t even know what Bieber playing, obviously Smart product placement.
