Sega readying crossover adaptations of upcoming PSP title

Andriasang reports Sega is planning not only a television conversion for the spinoff but also a good Yakuza manga serving.  Apparently Sega is not planning anime of Yakuza but instead, the showing will be live action.

Sega will also be producing the manga adaptation of the game with the help of manga artist, Yukai Asada.  The manga will feature an original story with Kamurocho as the setting and the ‘Dragon Heat Tournament’ as the manga’s main focus.

Looks like Tatsuya Ukyo is taking over Kazuma Kiryu’s position as the Yakuza’s poster boy.  For me this is a welcome change, and I am personally looking forward to both anime and live action series.  The tv will begin as 11 part drama which will air every Tuesday night on TBS and MBS starting October 5 followed by rental downloads from the Playstation Store.  The manga will be serialized  in the 9/18 issue of Weekly Young Magazine (issue number 42).

Code Geass Gaiden: Boukoku no Akito Scan

From what we know from this source, is that the form of this anime has not been set in stone.  It could be a theartical release, television series or OVA.  It can be any.  My best bet is, that it might become a television series given the success of its precessors.  The official title for this anime is ‘Code Geass Gaiden: Boukoku no Akito’, which reveals the anime will be a side story as Gaiden translates into ‘tale’ or ‘side story’.  You can view the trailer below in HD, although it doesn’t show much, there is a translation below for you get a better idea of the forthcoming anime has to offer.

Plot

The series is set after Japan’s conquest by the Holy Britannian Empire on August 10, 2010 a.t.b., with their powerful new robot weapons, the Knightmare Frames, stripping Japan and its citizens of all rights and freedoms and renaming the country Area 11. The titular Lelouch vi Britannia is a Britannian prince who was sent as hostage, along with his sister Nunnally, by his father, Emperor Charles zi Britannia, after his mother was murdered, and has vowed to destroy Britannia. He gains an ability through the mysterious power of the Geass, becoming the leader of the resistance movement to fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister Nunnally can live happily.

Reception

Since its premiere, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion has collected numerous awards and accolades. At the sixth annual Tokyo Anime Awards held at the 2007 Tokyo International Anime Fair, Code Geass^[5] In noted Japanese anime magazine Animage‘s 29th Annual Anime Grand Prix, Code Geass won the most popular series award, with Lelouch Lamperouge also being chosen as the most popular male character and “Colors” being chosen as the most popular song. In the 30th Annual Anime Grand Prix, Lelouch won first place again and C.C. was voted most popular female character^{[citation needed]}. At the first Seiyū Awards held in 2007, Jun Fukuyama won the award for best actor in a leading role for his performance as Lelouch Lamperouge in the series, while Ami Koshimizu won the award for best actress in a supporting role for her performance as Kallen Stadtfeld. won the best TV anime series award.

My thoughts on the episode was that its quite slow paced, but the highlight for me was the fight between Mashiro and Wonderweiss.  Download link below.

Team Taka looking depressed as usual.

The character roster just keeps on getting bigger and better.  Previously on SpitPOD we confirmed the Fourth Hokage will be playable in Naruto Shippuden: UNS 2.  A new scan from Shonen Jump magazine confirms Team Taka (formerly known as Team Hebi) will be playable.  To be honest, I am only interested in playing as the sauce (Sasuke), the other characters I could care less about.  I mean what is Karin gonna do? Bite?

Anyway, this should just keep you Hebi/Taka fan boys and girls happy.

Namikaze Minato - Fourth Hokage

If your a die hard Naruto fan like me, then you would probably know that Naruto UNS2 is shaping up quite nicely and succeeding in areas in which the original PS3 exclusive lacked.

Minato aka The Fourth Hokage aka Yondaime aka Yellow Flash has been confirmed for Naruto Shippuuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 for the PS3 & 360 according to an Amazon.de listing.

The Foruth Hokage is probably one of the only characters that everyone pretty much likes.  I wont spoil much since there is a big major twist in the story with this character and the lead but lets just say its going to be simply awesome now that he is included in the game.  Expect him to be one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) in the game with his signature teleportation jitsu.

If you dont know about Hakuouki, you can find the synopsis below.  It has a great cast of characters, but the only gripe I have with it, is the main female character.  Helpless and fustrating on a constant basis.  Anyway, give this show a try, as I thoroughly enjoyed it due to my fascination with samurais, japan and its culture.  The show is  also similar to Rurouni Kenshin in terms of setting and characters.

Based on Idea Factory’s romance adventure game: Yukimura Chizuru has come to Kyoto looking for her father, a doctor who has gone missing. While there, she witnesses a fight between Rasetsu and the Shinsengumi. Taking her into custody, the Shinsengumi debates on what to do with Chizuru when they discover that she is the daughter of the doctor they are also looking for. The Shinsengumi then takes Chizuru along on their search after the missing doctor, from adventures to adventures.
